Olivier Védrine

Olivier Védrine is a professor, journalist and former European Commission lecturer in the Team Europe expert network (2007-2014).

He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Russian Democratic Club in France.

He is a regular contributor to LCI, BFMTV, Franceinfo TV and foreign television, and writes in the Tribune de Genève.

In 2023, he was awarded the academic distinction of Professor Honoris Causa by the National Polytechnic University of Dnipro (formerly Dnipropetrovsk).

He was awarded the Academic Palms in 2022 in the presence of his Excellencies Etienne de Poncins - French Ambassador to Ukraine and Vadym Omelchenko - Ukrainian Ambassador to France.

He has been awarded the title of Professor Honoris Causa by Kiev International University.

He was the editor-in-chief of the Russian edition of the "Revue Défense Nationale" (2010-2014) in Paris at the École Militaire, he stopped the Russian edition of the "Revue Défense Nationale" at the beginning of 2014 to protest against the annexation of Crimea. Political adviser on Ukraine to Henri Malosse, President of the European Economic and Social Committee (2013-2015) in Brussels.

As a TV presenter, he has presented more than 150 TV programmes on national TV channels in Ukraine, including his own political TV show in support of Ukraine and the European Union. In 2021, together with the Kyiv Post newspaper, a new TV show was planned to start in March 2022. The first pilot broadcasts were recorded in January 2022 and early February 2022.

A member of the Russian opposition, he was editor-in-chief of Russian Monitor until February 2022, a Russian opposition Internet newspaper with 500,000 unique visitors per month before the large-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Olivier Védrine was awarded the Order of Saint Vladimir by Patriarch Philarete, Patriarchate of Kiev, an order rarely awarded to a foreigner.

He is or has been a speaker at various universities and institutions in France, Ukraine, Russia, Germany, Poland, Canada, Taiwan, Italy, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Estonia, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Romania, the Netherlands, Georgia and Portugal.
