It is with sadness that we learn of the death of Charles Henry Plumb, Lord Plumbwhich occurred on 15 April 2022.
Lord Plumb was a Member of the Honorary Committee of our Association.
A Conservative politician, he was the only British President of the European Parliament from 1987 to 1989.
I cooperated with him notably when he was the President of the EU-ACP Joint Assembly and when I was President of the EU-ACP Follow-up Committee of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC). He was a tireless advocate of development aid to Africa, and was very sensitive to the issue of education.
I remember a man with a generous heart, very pro-European!
