Lieven is an independent journalist accredited to the European Commission.
Since 2013, he is president of the Association of European Journalists in Belgium (AJE / AEJ).
It covers mainly economic and social policy issues for CAPresse. He is also interested in cultural issues.
Previously active for Euromedia Services in Brussels (European Fortnight, Brussels European, Europabericht, Eurinfo, Agency Europe Library, etc.), now member of CAPresse and moderator in multilingual debates (German, English, French, Dutch).
Secretary of the Steering Committee of the Jean Monnet Association. Previously also a member of the Scientific Committee of the Maison Schuman in Scy-Chazelles (Metz).
